Well Hello There Gorgeous!!
Creating unique, handmade gemstone bracelets is a fantastic way to express yourself! I’ve got some great ideas (that I use myself) to help you design a truly personalized bracelet that you’ll always love and wear.
Now, some of these ideas are a little different from the norm, but just wait to decide and see if it’s something you might (re)consider. You can start looking for inspiration by seeing some designs you’ll love right here, at our online shop.
6 Great Ways to Design…
1. Use your intuition.
Your intuition is an incredibly valuable tool when it comes to designing a semi-precious gemstone bracelet.
This is because your intuition is intimately connected to your sense of style and taste and can help guide you toward gemstones and designs that truly resonate with you.
Furthermore, your intuition can provide insight into the energetic properties of different gemstones, allowing you to select stones that will support and enhance your personal goals and intentions.
When you trust your intuition and allow it to guide your bracelet design, you can be confident that you will create a piece that is uniquely beautiful and perfectly aligned with your energy and style.
Choose gemstones that speak to you. There’s no easy explanation for it, other than “It’s a gut feeling”. Trust it and just go with it. Try not to go back and forth too many times when trying to decide on specific gemstones, as it may lead to even more confusion and doubt in regard to choosing what you think is the “right” one. Babe, you’re putting way too much pressure on yourself to get it right. If you go with your instincts, you can’t go wrong. Maybe the unexpected choice will turn out to be something you didn’t even comprehend you needed.
An example might be that your instinct tells you to pick Malachite and a while later, you realize some of your deep-rooted emotional baggage has been lifted and healed.
2. Choose your style.
Infusing your semi-precious bracelet design with your own flair and personality is important for several reasons.
Firstly, it sets your design apart from any others, making it unique and recognizable.
Secondly, adding your own personal touch to the design can make it more meaningful to you, creating a deeper connection between you and the piece.
Finally, incorporating your personality into the design can also make it more relatable to potential customers (Should you wish to sell them), as it shows that there is a real person behind the creation of the piece.
By infusing your semi-precious bracelet design with your own flair and personality, you can create a one-of-a-kind piece that truly represents you and your brand.
Here are some questions you might want to ask yourself before infusing your personality into the design of your bracelet.
- Are you going to design a bracelet that uses a strict format of just stones or are you going to add some flair with metal findings &/or charms?
- Is this bracelet being made for you or someone else? If you’re making it for someone else, do they share your tastes?
- Is there a special occasion where you’re planning to wear this bracelet? (This could determine so many different decisions you have to make in the design process. Some examples would be colour, charms, and pattern appropriateness)
- Do I want my bracelet to communicate a specific message?
This is the time to design something that really reflects your style & flair, so take my advice and just go for it!
Ultimately, the decision to add your own personality and flair to your bracelet design is a personal one. Consider the above questions, but also trust your own instincts and creativity. A well-designed bracelet can be an awesome way to express your inner diva and showcase your unique style.
3. Consider Using a Pattern
If you are looking to add some personality and uniqueness to your bracelet design, consider incorporating a pattern.
A pattern can add a pop of visual intrigue to an otherwise simple piece of jewelry. Not only does a pattern make your bracelet stand out, but it also allows you to showcase your individual style and creativity.
When choosing a pattern, consider the colours and materials you are working with to ensure the design complements the overall aesthetic.
With a little bit of experimentation and creativity, adding a pattern to your bracelet design can take it to the next level.
Would you consider using a pattern for your gemstone bracelet design? If you are a fan, keep it simple. A complicated pattern will end up looking the exact opposite…in other words, a mess!
When designing, I try not to use more than 3 different colours and definitely no more than 2 different cuts of stones on one bracelet. (Round, cube, column, and faceted shaped)
However, that being said, if you’re designing a set, it is okay to have each of the bracelets feature a different cut. It does add a wonderful, unexpected twist to the overall aesthetic of the set.
4. Different Sized Beads
Incorporating different-sized beads into your semi-precious gemstone bracelet design can add some extra depth, interest and texture to your piece.
To do this, start by selecting beads of varying sizes that complement each other and your chosen gemstones. Then, plan out your design to ensure that the larger beads are strategically placed throughout the bracelet for balance.
Consider using larger beads as focal points, spaced out with smaller beads to create a cohesive look. Additionally, mixing bead sizes can add interest to your piece and make it stand out.
Don’t be afraid to experiment and play around with different combinations until you find the perfect mix.
Definitely think about using different-sized beads in your bracelet design. Mix it up…add in what you learned in the earlier paragraph about patterns and NOW you are cooking with gas! You’re on the edge of creating something truly spectacular.
5. Use Your Zodiac Related Gemstones
A trend that is growing in popularity because it is more personalized is making zodiac-related jewelry… and, in our case, bracelets.
Incorporating your zodiac-themed gemstones into your bracelet design is an excellent way to add a personal touch to your jewelry.
Begin by researching the gemstones associated with your zodiac sign and select the ones you like most. Then, choose a bracelet design that complements the gemstones and your personal style.
You could opt for a simple gemstone bead bracelet or a more elaborate design with charms. Arrange the gemstones in a way that highlights their unique colors and shapes and consider adding other complementary stones to enhance the overall aesthetic.
With a little creativity, you can create a beautiful and meaningful zodiac-themed bracelet that you’ll love to wear every day.
The fun part about making a zodiac-themed bracelet is that it’s not a flashy or showy way to show off your zodiac pride. In fact, people would only know what it represents if they asked you.
6. Use Your Semi-Precious Birth Month Gemstone
Incorporating your semi-precious birth month gemstone into the design of a gemstone bracelet can add a unique and personal touch to your jewelry collection. Your birthstone is believed to hold special properties and energies that can bring good luck and positive energy into your life. By wearing a gemstone bracelet that features your birth month stone, you can connect with these energies and enhance your overall sense of well-being.
Additionally, a birthstone bracelet can serve as a meaningful and sentimental gift for yourself or a loved one, commemorating the month of their birth and symbolizing the special bond you share.
How special would that be? A bracelet that is made from a specific semi-precious gemstone that is most relevant to those born during that month. If you had this idea in mind when hunting for a gift, the person who receives it would be blown away by your thoughtfulness. #winning
